Imagine this: It’s Russia in the early 20th century and you are a young surgeon — a haruspex — named Artemy Burakh. Your father has summoned you home, his letter to you concerning. It’s been over six years since you’ve stepped foot in your hometown. Everyone’s a stranger to you by now.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a supernatural teen drama that influenced pop culture. Originally aired on the WB in 1997, the series ended in 2003, completing seven seasons and 144 episodes. The show allowed us to watch Buffy Summers’ journey as she navigated being both a high school student and as someone destined to fight supernatural creatures.
For most, this was their introduction to serialized television. The show continues to be given notice even after it ended, claiming that “If we really are in a Golden Age of Television, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a harbinger.”

I finished Interview With the Vampire recently and I’m excited to move onto The Vampire Lestat. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) was supposed to be the franchise’s first step into the HD gaming. It’s safe to say that this game tripped and fell at the doorway. First announced at E3 2005, Sonic the Hedgehog was a 3D platformer that took advantage of the Havok Physics engine. To say that the fanbase was excited was an understatement. This was the beloved blue blur’s first foray into HD and the highly choreographed and scripted demo revealed at E3 looked almost too good to be true (fans would find out later that it was).
